The Temple of Artemis was the most important religious building in Roman Jerash, dedicated to the city's patron goddess. Built on a high podium, it originally had 12 columns along its front, 11 of which still stand, making it one of the most iconic structures in the archaeological park. Visitors climb the monumental staircase to the sanctuary, where the scale of the columns and the panoramic view of the ruins below are breathtaking. The temple's Corinthian capitals and intricate stonework reflect the wealth and devotion of the city.

  • Count the 11 remaining columns of the peristyle, each nearly 13 meters high, that dominate the skyline.
  • Climb the grand staircase to the temple platform for sweeping views over Jerash's ruins and hills beyond.
