The Tottori Sand Museum is the world's only indoor museum dedicated to sand sculpture, located just a short walk from the dunes. Each year, a different theme inspires artists from around the globe to create massive, detailed sculptures using only sand and water. Past themes have included 'Egypt' and 'South America,' with sculptures depicting pyramids, sphinxes, and Machu Picchu. The controlled environment preserves the artworks, allowing visitors to admire the craftsmanship up close. It's a fascinating complement to the outdoor dunes, offering a different perspective on sand as an artistic medium.
