Hōki Provincial Capital is an archaeological site preserving the ruins of the ancient administrative center of Hōki Province from the Nara period (710–794). Excavations have revealed foundation stones and post holes of government buildings, with explanatory signs and partial reconstructions that help visitors imagine the original layout. It provides a tangible link to Japan's early state formation and regional governance.
