Yashima-ji is a sacred Shingon Buddhist temple perched atop the flat-topped Mount Yashima, offering sweeping views of the Seto Inland Sea. As the 84th temple on the Shikoku Pilgrimage, it attracts pilgrims and tourists alike. The temple complex includes a main hall, a pagoda, and several sub-temples, all surrounded by ancient cedars. Visitors can ring the temple bell, light incense, and explore the grounds while enjoying the serene atmosphere and panoramic vistas. The site also has historical significance as the location of a famous 12th-century battle.
