Megijima is a small island off the coast of Takamatsu, famous for its association with the Japanese folktale of Momotaro (Peach Boy). The island's main attraction is the Onigashima (Demon Island) cave, a large man-made cavern said to be the demon's lair. Beyond the cave, Megijima offers pleasant hiking trails that lead to scenic viewpoints overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. The island also has beaches, citrus groves, and a small fishing village, making it a peaceful day-trip destination.
