Sunpu Castle was the retirement home of Tokugawa Ieyasu, the first shogun of the Edo period, and today its grounds form a public park. Visitors can see reconstructed gates and sections of the moat, giving a sense of the castle's former grandeur. The park features open lawns, cherry trees, and a small museum with artifacts.
