Take the stairs down one floor to enter a quaint, french-inspired restaurant with old-school posters and decor. Most importantly the food was good and value for money! We ordered the Lunch "Bistrot Set" (2,500yen), Chicken roast spice sauce was delicious and the Duck roast black pepper sauce was presented beautifully. We upgraded one of the desserts to the peach melba which to our surprise was made with Japanese peaches (not the canned kind). The service ended with coffee and tea, a delightful meal indeed
The dinner dishes are really good. My friend and I ordered the dinner course with red wine. The price is reasonable with the food quality. All staff are friendly and really nice to explain all the plates that we ordered. The restaurant environment is cozy. [English menu is not available but staff are kindly help to order the food]
We discovered a bit of France in Osaka in this resto just steps away from Hotel Cross. It was a short walk but a bit more slowly as we descended to the basement level from the street. Inside it was very crowded with young locals or Asian visitors -- no Westerners. The servers spoke hesitatingly English, but we made it easier by ordering the daily fix menu at $30. We got mussels, wine-flavored beef, apple tartan and coffee. It was both a bargain and delicious. There were crowds of people as we stepped back upon the street level.
Our last night in Japan was made most memorable with a wonderful dinner at this cosy bistro. It happened to be when Chef Patrick Terrien was present during his annual one month visit to Japan. I’m sure the food would be as good all of the time, but without doubt the meal was a delicious treat from beginning to end.... a perfect finish to our holiday. Merci beacoup.
