Best Japanese curry place I ate during my two week solo trip! Much better than Coco Ichibanya! I loved the curry with raw egg topping. The spice level was delicate and just right - not too thick either. Since I was solo I sat with another person at a table. The salary man promptly inhaled his curry and I was impressed! You know it's a good restaurant when locals are there.
This place has an old school charm to it. There was a line forming when we arrived 10mins past opening at 11.10am. The food were delicious and the curry rice with an egg was quite a nice pleasant surprise. The omu rice was great for my child, too. I enjoyed my steak as well, it was cooked just right with the right amount of sauce and seasoning.
We stumbled on this place on a wet evening after finding many places closed on a Sunday night, or full. Following a warm welcome, we revived with sake and a beer, then ordered the daily special plus the egg-wrapped rice dish and pork katsu topped with egg. It was all delicious and the three of us ate every morsel of our meals. It’s not fancy but it is warm and friendly and the home style food is very tasty.
Arrived late into town and spent ages being turned away from reservation only places. Found this gem when looking for a cab home. Simple food, not pretending to be anything else. Staff were friendly and accommodating and had a nice meal and experience.
