One of the best dining experiences we've had in Japan. Chef Shintarou was so friendly and welcoming. He is a true master chef while staying very grounded. We enjoyed the service of the whole team. I would highly recommend booking a reservation here if you are visiting Osaka!
I had an unforgettable evening at Rakushin in Osaka, where beautiful cuisine met an ambiance that was pure magic. Each dish was a delightful surprise, making me wish I could capture every moment for my travel journal. Tucked away in the charming laneways of the Fukushima neighborhood, Rakushin offers a unique take on Japanese hospitality. As you step inside, the peaceful ambiance wraps around you, with the soft, melodic sounds of crickets chirping in the background. It creates such a calming vibe that instantly helps you forget the hustle and bustle outside, allowing you to dive into the experience and savor every moment. The centerpiece of the restaurant is an impressive six-meter counter made of solid ginkgo timber, complemented by plush vermilion seats that are both inviting and comfortable. Once you’re seated, the elegantly designed garden outside provides a refreshing view that perfectly complements the culinary experience. For those who prefer a more traditional vibe, there’s table seating and even sunken tatami floor options, perfect for stretching out and relaxing. The mortar walls, blended with ink, create an elegant backdrop that feels like stepping into an ink painting, inviting calm and reflection. One special piece of calligraphy on the wall was gifted to the chef by a customer on the restaurant’s fifth anniversary. It’s a beautiful expression of gratitude that captures the spirit of Rakushin and the connections the chef has formed along his journey. In short, Rakushin is more than just a restaurant; it’s a sensory experience that captures the heart of Osaka. If you’re looking for a memorable omakase adventure, this is the place to be!
