Kōko-en is a meticulously designed Japanese garden built in the 1990s on the former site of samurai residences. It features nine different garden styles, including a tea garden, a bamboo garden, and a pond garden with a waterfall. Visitors can stroll along winding paths, cross wooden bridges, and enjoy seasonal flowers like cherry blossoms in spring and maple leaves in autumn. The garden offers a peaceful contrast to the grand castle, with teahouses where you can rest and enjoy matcha tea.
Don't miss
- Walk through the Bamboo Garden, where tall bamboo groves create a tranquil atmosphere.
- Visit the Tea Garden and experience a traditional tea ceremony in one of the teahouses.
- See the large pond with koi fish and a miniature waterfall, reflecting the garden's harmony with nature.
