Monte Cimino is the highest peak of the Monti Cimini volcanic range, reaching 1,053 meters. It is a popular destination for hikers and nature lovers seeking sweeping views of the Tuscia region. The mountain is covered in dense beech and chestnut forests, with trails that lead through shaded woods to the summit. At the top, a large iron cross marks the peak, and on clear days you can see as far as the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Apennines. The area is also rich in wildlife, including wild boar and deer. The hike is moderate, suitable for most fitness levels, and takes about 1.5 hours from the trailhead near the Abbey of San Martino al Cimino.
