Trapani Cathedral, officially the Basilica of San Lorenzo, is a striking Baroque church located in the heart of Trapani's historic center. Its facade, adorned with intricate carvings and statues, opens into a spacious interior with a Latin cross plan, decorated with stuccoes, frescoes, and marble altars. The cathedral houses notable artworks, including a wooden crucifix by an unknown 17th-century sculptor and a painting of the Madonna and Child. Visitors can admire the ornate chapels, the high altar, and the crypt. The cathedral is a central point for religious festivals, especially the Procession of the Mysteries during Holy Week.
