Perched on a hillside above Vietri sul Mare, Raito is a tranquil hamlet that rewards visitors with some of the most sweeping vistas along the Amalfi Coast. The village is characterized by narrow, winding lanes lined with pastel-colored houses and vibrant bougainvillea. From its belvedere, you can gaze out over the Gulf of Salerno, with the blue sea stretching to the horizon and the rugged coastline dotted with lemon groves. Raito is also known for its ceramic traditions, part of Vietri's famed maiolica heritage. Strolling through the village, you'll notice ceramic plaques and decorations adorning walls and staircases. The atmosphere is peaceful, far from the crowds of Amalfi and Positano, making it an ideal spot for a quiet afternoon. Local trattorias serve simple, authentic Campanian cuisine, and the nearby beach of Marina di Vietri is a short drive or steep walk down.
