Perched on a rocky promontory near Maiori, the Capo d'Orso Lighthouse (Faro di Capo d'Orso) is a striking white tower that has guided sailors along the Amalfi Coast for over a century. Visitors can hike up to the lighthouse along a coastal path that winds through Mediterranean scrub, with the deep blue Tyrrhenian Sea stretching to the horizon. The vantage point offers one of the most breathtaking panoramas of the Amalfi coastline, from the cliffs of Maiori to the distant peaks of the Lattari Mountains. The lighthouse itself, though not open to the public, is a photogenic landmark against the rugged landscape. The area is less crowded than other Amalfi Coast viewpoints, making it a peaceful spot for sunset or a quiet afternoon. The surrounding nature trail is dotted with wildflowers and offers glimpses of seabirds and, occasionally, dolphins offshore.

Don't miss

  • Panoramic views of the Amalfi Coast and Tyrrhenian Sea from the lighthouse terrace
  • Scenic coastal hike through Mediterranean vegetation
  • Photograph the iconic white lighthouse against blue sea and sky
  • Sunset views with golden light over the coastline
  • Spotting seabirds and possibly dolphins offshore
