Monte Stivo is a distinctive mountain east of Riva del Garda, known for its long ridge and two main peaks. The hiking trails here offer a mix of forest paths and open ridges, with the summit providing one of the best vantage points in the region. On a clear day, you can see the entire Lake Garda, the Dolomites, and even the Po Valley. The hike is moderately strenuous, with some steep ascents, but the trail is well-maintained and marked. The mountain is less frequented than Monte Baldo, offering a quieter experience. Along the way, you'll pass through beech and pine forests, and in spring, the meadows are carpeted with wildflowers. The summit area has a small refuge where hikers can rest. Monte Stivo is also a popular spot for paragliding, and you might see colorful gliders soaring overhead.

Don't miss

  • Panoramic views of Lake Garda, the Dolomites, and the Po Valley
  • WWI fortifications and trenches near the summit
  • Wildflower meadows in spring and early summer
  • Paragliding activity from the ridge
