Monte Altissimo di Nago is a prominent peak in the Monte Baldo range, rising above Riva del Garda. The mountain offers a network of hiking trails that wind through beech forests and alpine meadows, culminating in a summit with a panoramic terrace. From the top, you can see the entire northern basin of Lake Garda, the Brenta Dolomites, and the Adamello-Presanella glaciers. The trail is moderately challenging, with some steep sections, but the reward is a 360-degree vista that changes with the light throughout the day. Many hikers start from the village of Nago or from the Passo San Giovanni, following well-marked paths. The area is also known for its rich flora, including rare orchids in spring. Whether you're an avid trekker or a casual walker, Monte Altissimo provides a memorable alpine experience just a short drive from the lake.
