Vernazza, one of the five villages of Cinque Terre, is a postcard-perfect destination perched on the Ligurian coast. Its natural harbor, the only one in the Cinque Terre, is a focal point where fishing boats bob in crystal-clear waters. The village is a maze of narrow alleyways and steep staircases, leading to a small piazza by the sea. Colorful houses cling to the cliffs, their facades in shades of yellow, orange, and pink creating a vibrant backdrop. The medieval Doria Tower, part of the castle ruins, offers panoramic views of the coastline and terraced vineyards. Visitors can explore the marina, enjoy fresh seafood at waterfront restaurants, or hike the famous trail to neighboring villages. Vernazza's intimate scale and unspoiled charm make it a must-see stop on any Cinque Terre itinerary.
