Corniglia is the only Cinque Terre village not directly on the sea, perched atop a 100-meter cliff surrounded by terraced vineyards. Unlike its neighbors, Corniglia offers a more tranquil atmosphere, with fewer crowds and a slower pace. To reach the village center, visitors climb the famous Lardarina, a long brick staircase with 33 flights and over 380 steps, or take a shuttle bus from the train station. Once at the top, narrow lanes wind past colorful houses, small shops, and cafes. The main square, Piazza della Chiesa, features the Gothic-style Church of San Pietro. The village's highlight is the panoramic terrace at the end of Via Fieschi, offering sweeping views of the coastline and the sea. Corniglia is an ideal spot for wine tasting, as it is surrounded by vineyards producing the local Sciacchetrà wine. The nearby Guvano Beach, accessible via a path, is a secluded spot for swimming.
