Portofino Lighthouse, known locally as Faro di Portofino, stands at the eastern end of the Portofino promontory, marking the entrance to the Gulf of Tigullio. The white stone tower rises from a rocky cliff, surrounded by Mediterranean scrub. While the lighthouse itself is not open to the public, the surrounding area offers spectacular panoramic views of the Ligurian coast, from Portofino to Santa Margherita Ligure and beyond. A short walk from the lighthouse leads to a viewpoint where visitors can see the rugged coastline and the deep blue sea. The lighthouse is still active, with its light visible for miles. It is a popular spot for photographers, especially at sunset, and for hikers following the coastal trail from Portofino. The area is also a great place for whale watching during migration seasons.

Don't miss

  • Enjoy panoramic views from the lighthouse viewpoint
  • Photograph the lighthouse against the sea and sky
  • Hike the coastal trail from Portofino to the lighthouse
  • Watch for dolphins and whales in the distance (seasonal)
