Palazzo del Giardino is a former ducal palace located in the heart of the Parco Ducale, Parma's largest and most beloved public park. The palace itself, built in the 16th century for the Farnese family, is an elegant example of Renaissance architecture. Today, it houses the Carabinieri command and is not open to the public, but its exterior and the surrounding park are the main draws. Visitors can stroll through the Parco Ducale, which features manicured lawns, tree-lined avenues, ornate fountains, and classical sculptures. The park is a peaceful retreat from the city bustle, popular for jogging, picnicking, and leisurely walks. The highlight is the large fountain with mythological figures, and the park's layout offers lovely views of the palace. It's a perfect spot to relax and enjoy nature in the city center.
