The Elymian-Punic Walls are a remarkable remnant of Erice's pre-Roman defenses, stretching along the edge of the medieval town. Built by the indigenous Elymians and later reinforced by the Carthaginians, these massive limestone blocks date back to the 5th–3rd centuries BCE. Walking along the walls offers a tangible connection to the ancient world, with sections still standing several meters high. The walls are integrated into the urban fabric, with houses built against them. A path follows the wall's course, providing excellent views of the surrounding countryside and a sense of the city's strategic importance.
