Cefalù Cathedral, officially the Cathedral of the Transfiguration, is a masterpiece of Norman architecture perched along the coast of Sicily. Built in the 12th century under King Roger II, the cathedral's exterior features twin towers and a fortified appearance, while the interior dazzles with golden Byzantine mosaics depicting Christ Pantocrator, the Virgin Mary, and saints. The apse mosaic, with its serene Christ figure, is considered one of the finest examples of Byzantine art in Italy. Visitors can also explore the cloister, with its intricate columns and peaceful garden. The cathedral's location in the historic center, near the sea, makes it a central landmark in Cefalù.
