San Leucio is a historic village just outside Caserta, famous for its silk production and the Belvedere complex, a former royal hunting lodge turned silk factory. The site is a UNESCO World Heritage property as part of the 18th-Century Royal Palace at Caserta with the Park, the Aqueduct of Vanvitelli, and the San Leucio Complex. Visitors can tour the Silk Museum, where they see antique looms and learn about the silk-making process. The Belvedere itself features frescoed rooms and a small chapel. The village's planned layout reflects Enlightenment ideals of a utopian industrial community.
