The Treaty of Rapallo, signed on April 16, 1922, was a pivotal agreement between Germany and the Soviet Union, establishing diplomatic and economic relations and renouncing mutual claims from World War I. The signing took place at the Grand Hotel in Rapallo, a seaside resort town near Camogli. While the hotel itself no longer exists (it was demolished in the 1950s), a commemorative plaque marks the site at the present-day Hotel Europa & Regina. Visitors can view the plaque on the building's facade, located along the Lungomare Vittorio Veneto promenade. The area offers a pleasant seaside walk with views of the Gulf of Tigullio. While not a major tourist attraction, the site holds historical significance for those interested in 20th-century diplomacy. The nearby town of Rapallo also features a historic castle and a vibrant old town, making it a worthwhile stop for history enthusiasts.
