Castello di Punta Pagana is a historic fortress perched at the southernmost tip of the Punta Pagana peninsula, just south of Camogli. Built in the 16th century as a defensive stronghold against pirate raids, the castle now serves as a private residence and is not open to the public. However, its striking silhouette against the Ligurian Sea makes it a popular sight for boat tours and coastal hikes. Visitors can admire the castle from the water or along the scenic path that runs from Camogli to Punta Pagana, offering stunning views of the rugged coastline and the castle's weathered stone walls. The surrounding area is part of the Portofino Regional Park, with lush Mediterranean vegetation and crystal-clear waters. While you cannot enter, the castle's exterior and its dramatic setting, perched on a rocky outcrop, make it a memorable photographic subject and a testament to the region's maritime history.
