Pallata Tower is one of Brescia's few remaining medieval towers, standing 32 meters tall in the historic center. Built in the 13th century as part of the city's defensive walls, it later served as a prison. Today, visitors can climb the internal staircase to a viewing platform at the top. The climb is steep but rewarding, with sweeping views of red-tiled roofs, church domes, and the surrounding mountains. The tower is located on Corso Palestro, a busy shopping street, making it a convenient stop while exploring the city. The base of the tower is decorated with stone carvings and a small fountain.

Don't miss

  • Climb to the top for panoramic views of Brescia's historic center and the Franciacorta hills.
  • Examine the medieval stonework and the tower's original arrow slits.
  • See the small fountain at the base, added during a 20th-century restoration.
  • Combine a visit with a walk along Corso Palestro, lined with shops and cafes.
  • Look for the coat of arms of the Visconti family, who once ruled Brescia.
