The Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation is a historic church in Nazareth built over a natural spring. According to tradition, this is where the Virgin Mary drew water when the angel Gabriel appeared to her. The church's interior features beautiful icons and a crypt with the spring still flowing. It offers a quieter alternative to the larger Basilica of the Annunciation, with a more intimate atmosphere. Pilgrims and visitors come to see the sacred spring and experience Orthodox worship traditions.
Don't miss
- See the ancient spring inside the crypt, still flowing with water
- View the ornate iconostasis and religious icons
- Experience the peaceful, less-crowded atmosphere compared to the nearby basilica
