Castletownshend is a charming village perched on the hillside overlooking a natural harbour. Its narrow streets are lined with brightly painted houses, many dating back to the 17th and 18th centuries. The village is dominated by the ruins of a castle built by the Townshend family, from whom the village takes its name. The harbour is a haven for sailing and fishing boats, and the surrounding countryside offers excellent walking trails with stunning coastal views.
