Caragh Lake is a stunning body of water nestled in the Iveragh Peninsula, just south of Killorglin. Surrounded by rolling hills and with the majestic MacGillycuddy's Reeks as a backdrop, the lake offers a quintessentially Irish landscape. The lake is popular for trout and salmon fishing, with several designated spots along its shores. Kayakers and paddleboarders enjoy the calm waters, especially in the morning when the surface is mirror-like. Walking trails wind around parts of the lake, providing easy to moderate hikes with panoramic views. The area is also dotted with picnic spots and small beaches. Caragh Lake is less crowded than the Ring of Kerry's main attractions, making it a peaceful retreat for nature lovers. Birdwatchers can spot herons, swans, and various waterfowl. The nearby Caragh Lake village has a pub and basic amenities.
