Muckross House is a striking Victorian mansion built in 1843 for the Herbert family, set amid the lush landscapes of Killarney National Park. Visitors can tour the elegantly furnished rooms, which showcase the lifestyle of the landed gentry, including the kitchen, nursery, and servants' quarters. The house is surrounded by beautifully maintained gardens, featuring a sunken garden, rock garden, and a water garden with cascading streams. Beyond the formal gardens, the Muckross Traditional Farms offer a glimpse into 1930s rural life, with farm animals, thatched cottages, and demonstrations of traditional crafts like weaving and farming. The estate also provides access to numerous walking trails that wind through the park's woodlands and along the shores of Muckross Lake.
