Rothe House is a unique survival of Kilkenny's medieval past, a three-gabled merchant's townhouse built between 1594 and 1610. Located on Parliament Street, it consists of three linked houses with a cobbled courtyard and reconstructed period gardens. The museum inside displays artefacts from Kilkenny's history, including archaeological finds, costumes, and household items. Visitors can explore the restored rooms furnished in period style, offering a vivid glimpse into the life of a wealthy Tudor merchant. The gardens, planted with herbs and flowers typical of the 17th century, provide a tranquil retreat in the city centre.
