The Bull Wall is a 1.8-kilometer stone causeway that extends into Dublin Bay from the North Bull Island, leading to a historic lighthouse. Originally built in the 1820s to improve Dublin Port, it now serves as a popular walking and cycling route. The walk offers stunning views of the Dublin Mountains, Howth Head, and the Poolbeg Chimneys. At the end, the Bull Wall Lighthouse (also known as the North Bull Wall Lighthouse) provides a picturesque focal point. The area is also a great spot for birdwatching, with many waders and waterfowl on the adjacent mudflats.

Don't miss

  • Walk the entire causeway to the lighthouse for panoramic bay views
  • Birdwatch for oystercatchers, curlews, and other waders
  • Photograph the lighthouse against the Dublin skyline
  • Cycle or jog along the flat, paved path
