Ben of Howth is the highest point on the Howth Head peninsula, rising 171 meters above sea level. The summit is marked by a large cairn, and on a clear day, the views are spectacular: Dublin Bay stretches to the south, the Wicklow Mountains frame the horizon, and the Irish Sea opens to the east. The hike to the top is moderate, with several trails winding through heathland and gorse. It's a popular spot for walkers, runners, and photographers. The summit cairn is a great place to pause, take in the scenery, and feel the sea breeze. The walk is especially rewarding at sunrise or sunset when the light paints the landscape.
