Qasr al-'Ashiq, meaning 'the Lover's Palace,' is a well-preserved Abbasid palace built around 877–882 AD during the reign of Caliph al-Mu'tamid. The palace features a central courtyard surrounded by rooms, iwans, and a mosque, all decorated with intricate stucco and brickwork. Its location on the Tigris River offers a peaceful atmosphere. Visitors can explore the ruins and imagine courtly life in the Abbasid era, with views of the river and surrounding palm groves.
