Nice place to visit with friends and colleagues to have party and enjoy. It’s situated in balewadi highstreet. I liked the dessert very much which was kunafa with gulab jamun. Paneer biryani was also good served in banana leaf potli and non veg biryani in pressure cooker. Unique serving options were there for mocktail and cocktails as well.
Restrooms Cleaner Than the Menu: A Foundry of Fun in Balewadi High, Pune Urban Foundry is like walking into a meme that took a detour into an art gallery, only to land itself in the heart of Pune's dining scene. It’s as if someone said, “Let’s mash industrial chic with gastronomic experimentation and see if the customers notice.” Spoiler alert: we noticed. Well! Most of the Eateries on Balewadi High have “restrooms” that need serious attention of Local Municipal Committee. But what a Big Relief! Let’s address the elephant in the room—or rather, the spotless washroom. Urban Foundry gets full marks for having the cleanest restrooms I’ve seen in an establishment that doesn’t sell life insurance. If cleanliness is next to godliness, this place is basically the temple of loo hygiene. “Have you washed your hands?” asks the cheeky sign by the exit. Maazi Satakli? More like Maazi Saaf Keli. Now, picture this: You sit down, eagerly awaiting your food, and instead of a plate, you’re served your meal in a metal bowl that looks like it belongs in a prison cafeteria. I half expected to be issued a jumpsuit and a tin cup to complete the look. Or maybe, you get confused for a moment! Am I in some Kennel? Quirky? Sure. Confusing? Definitely.. And honestly, I’m still not sure if the theme was supposed to be chic dining or ‘chowkidar’s lunch break.’ But I must say - very innovative! Different indeed! The food? Biryani? Swad Anusaar, yaar. It hit all the right notes like a perfectly tuned Bollywood dance number. But just when you’re vibing with the flavors, the pizza shows up and surprises you by actually being... good? Yeah, I wasn’t ready for that curveball. But the rest of the Indian menu? It’s like the chef was on a conference call while cooking—present but distracted. “Mirchi lag gayi” in the literal and metaphorical sense. Drinks? Drinkable, but not making you want to send out 'Shukriya' notes to the bartender. A solid 7/10, which is great if your idea of a good time is being comfortably buzzed without doing the bhangra. Now, the pièce de résistance—or rather, pièce de “What is this?”—was the bill arriving in a mini iron press. For a moment, I thought I was supposed to iron out my regrets or press my dinner shirt while I digested my confusion. I mean, am I paying the bill or getting inducted into the ironing brigade? Final verdict? Go for the vibe, the vibes alone. Urban Foundry is like a Bollywood film where you’re there more for the songs and dance than the story. You’ll have a blast... just don’t expect Michelin stars to fall from the ceiling.
Pretty good place! I like the seating, especially with the covers off, to make it under the sky! Good food and service, accommodating staff, decent variety. A great hangout place. Recommended!
It is just Average. Did not get a WOW factor. Need to improve a lot in terms of hygeine and services, while food served is Good. Overall did not get a feeling of Value of Money.
