Matangeshvara Temple, Khajuraho

Matangeshvara Temple is one of the largest and most important Shiva temples in Khajuraho, and uniquely among the western group monuments, it remains an active place of worship. The temple houses a towering stone lingam, one of the largest in the region, and a separate pavilion contains a large statue of Nandi, Shiva's bull mount.
