The Chitragupta Temple is one of the few sun temples in Khajuraho, dedicated to Surya. The sanctum houses a large image of Surya driving a seven-horse chariot, a rare iconographic feature. The temple's walls are covered with detailed carvings of celestial beings, musicians, and erotic scenes. As part of the western group, it offers a serene atmosphere and a chance to appreciate Chandela artistry focused on solar worship.
