Dhauli, a hill on the banks of the Daya River, is a place of profound historical and spiritual significance. It is here that Emperor Ashoka inscribed his famous Rock Edicts after the bloody Kalinga War, renouncing violence and embracing Buddhism. The site features a majestic white peace pagoda (Shanti Stupa) built by Japanese Buddhists, symbolizing harmony. Visitors can see the rock edicts carved into the hillside and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding countryside from the pagoda.
