Tai Mo Shan, standing at 957 meters, is Hong Kong's tallest mountain, located in the central New Territories. Hikers tackle the steep trails to reach the summit, where on clear days they are rewarded with panoramic vistas stretching from the urban sprawl of Kowloon to the distant outlying islands. The mountain's upper slopes are often shrouded in mist, lending a mystical atmosphere. The area is part of Tai Mo Shan Country Park, which features diverse flora and fauna, including rare butterflies and birds. Visitors can also explore the nearby Ng Tung Chai waterfalls or the abandoned radar station near the peak.
