Theopetra Cave is a significant prehistoric site located at the foot of a limestone hill, about 3 km from Kalambaka. Excavations have revealed continuous human habitation from the Middle Paleolithic to the Neolithic period, spanning over 100,000 years. The cave's most distinctive feature is a stone wall at its entrance, built around 23,000 years ago, possibly to block wind or predators. Visitors can walk through the cave and see the excavated layers, as well as exhibits of tools and fossils. It offers a fascinating glimpse into early human life in Greece.
