The Monastery of the Holy Trinity is one of Meteora's most dramatic monasteries, perched on a narrow rock pinnacle that appears almost inaccessible. Built in the 15th century, it gained international fame as the setting for the climax of the James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'. Reaching the monastery requires climbing 140 uneven steps carved into the cliff, but the effort rewards visitors with stunning views and a sense of isolation. The small church inside features faded frescoes, and the peaceful courtyard offers a unique vantage point over the surrounding rocks.
Don't miss
- Climb the 140 steps for a sense of the monastery's remote setting
- Spot the locations used in the James Bond film 'For Your Eyes Only'
- Enjoy the panoramic view of the Meteora rock pillars from the monastery courtyard
