The Temple of Apollo Aktios, located on a promontory near the entrance to the Ambracian Gulf, was a major religious site in antiquity. Dedicated to Apollo, it was closely tied to the nearby Battle of Actium (31 BC), where Octavian's victory led to the end of the Roman Republic. Today, visitors can see the temple's foundations and a few standing columns, with interpretive signs explaining its history. The site offers a quiet, contemplative atmosphere with views over the sea where the battle took place.
