Berlin Cathedral (Berliner Dom) is the largest Protestant church in Germany, located on Museum Island in the heart of Berlin. Its imposing dome dominates the city skyline. Built between 1894 and 1905, the cathedral replaced an earlier church and was intended as a grand dynastic and national monument for the Hohenzollern family. The interior is richly decorated with mosaics, marble, and stained glass, featuring the impressive Sauer organ with over 7,000 pipes. Visitors can climb the 270 steps to the dome's gallery for panoramic views of the city, including the Spree River and the Berlin TV Tower. The crypt contains the tombs of nearly 100 Hohenzollern royals, including Frederick I and Sophie Charlotte. The cathedral also hosts regular services and concerts. Its location on Museum Island makes it a perfect stop between museums.
