St. Mary's Church (Marienkirche) is a striking example of Gothic hall church architecture in Osnabrück. Built between the 13th and 15th centuries, it is distinguished by its leaning tower, which tilts noticeably due to subsidence in the sandy soil. Inside, the church features a series of magnificent stained-glass windows, some dating from the 14th century, depicting biblical scenes and saints. The high vaulted ceiling and slender columns create a sense of verticality and light. The church also houses a carved wooden altar and a Baroque organ. Despite its tilt, the tower remains stable and is a beloved landmark. The church is an active place of worship and hosts regular concerts. Its location on the market square makes it a natural stop during a walking tour of the old town.
