Bucksturm is one of the few remaining towers from Osnabrück's medieval fortifications, standing as a testament to the city's defensive past. Built in the 13th century, this sturdy stone structure was part of the city wall and later repurposed as a prison, earning it a grim reputation. Today, visitors can view the tower from the outside and appreciate its robust architecture, including narrow slit windows and a conical roof. While the interior is not generally open to the public, the tower's exterior and surrounding area offer a glimpse into medieval urban defense. It stands in a quiet corner of the old town, near the former city wall, and is often included in walking tours of Osnabrück's historic sites.
