Norddeich Mole station is the final stop on the mainland railway line, located directly at the ferry terminal in Norddeich. As soon as you step off the train, you are just a short walk from the boarding gates for the ferries to Norderney. The station building itself is modest, but its setting is dramatic: the North Sea stretches out before you, and the salty breeze announces the island experience ahead. Inside, you'll find ticket machines, waiting areas, and basic amenities. The real attraction, however, is the seamless transition from rail to sea, making it a pivotal point for travelers heading to the East Frisian Islands. The platform offers views of the harbor, where ferries and fishing boats come and go, and the nearby dike provides a pleasant spot for a pre-boarding stroll.
Don't miss
- Watch ferries depart for Norderney from the platform
- Photograph the contrast of train and sea
- Walk the short path to the dike for panoramic views
- Explore the small harbor area with fishing boats
