St. Anne's Museum is housed in a beautifully preserved former Augustinian convent, built in the early 16th century. The museum showcases Lübeck's rich artistic and cultural heritage, with a focus on medieval sculpture, altarpieces, and religious art. The collection includes works by Bernt Notke, Hermen Rode, and other Lübeck masters. The museum's setting is atmospheric: vaulted halls, cloisters, and a chapel create an immersive experience. Highlights include the 'Memorial Hall of the Hanseatic League' with its intricate woodcarvings, and the 'Cabinet of Curiosities' featuring scientific instruments and naturalia. The museum also has a section on Lübeck's history as a free imperial city. The adjacent St. Anne's Church, now a ruin, is part of the museum complex.
