Aussichtsturm Schlossberg is a lookout tower perched atop the Schlossberg hill, offering sweeping 360-degree views of Freiburg's red-roofed old town, the Black Forest, and the Rhine valley. The tower itself is a modern steel structure built in 2002, replacing an earlier wooden tower. Visitors ascend via a spiral staircase to the viewing platform, where interpretive panels help identify landmarks. The surrounding Schlossberg park is a popular recreational area with walking trails, vineyards, and beer gardens. On clear days, the view extends to the Vosges mountains in France, making it a prime spot for photography and orienting yourself to the city's geography.
