Berchtesgaden National Park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve that encompasses the rugged Berchtesgaden Alps, including Germany's second-highest peak, Watzmann. The park is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with over 250 km of hiking trails ranging from easy lakeside walks to challenging alpine climbs. Visitors can explore pristine forests, alpine meadows, and glacial lakes like Königssee. Wildlife includes ibex, chamois, golden eagles, and marmots.
