Abano Glacier is one of the largest glaciers on Mount Kazbek, located in the Kazbegi region of Georgia. For adventurous hikers, the glacier offers a dramatic encounter with the raw power of ice and rock. The trek to the glacier takes you across moraines, past crevasses, and alongside meltwater streams, with the constant presence of the towering peak above. As you approach, the glacier's blue-tinged ice and seracs become visible, and you can hear the creak and groan of moving ice. The surrounding landscape is starkly beautiful, with alpine meadows giving way to barren rock and snow. Reaching the glacier provides a profound sense of achievement and a close-up view of one of the Caucasus's most impressive natural features.

Don't miss
